  11. 3 tbsp jeera(cumin) seeds
  12. 2 tbsp Ajwain (Carom seeds)
  13. to taste Salt
  14. 1/2 cup Oil
  15. 2 tbsp saunf( fennel seeds)
  16. 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  17. to taste Red chilli powder
  18. to taste Sugar
  19. 1 pinch hing/asafoetida
  20. 1 tsp curry leaves
  21. 1 Lauki ( bottle gourd)grated

Steps to make to make Handvo

  1. Soak rice and all the daals for 6 hours
  2. After 6 hours grind that mix with ginger garlic and chilli
  3. Add curd to the mixture and leave it covered for 6 hours or overnight
  4. Now the mixture will be fermented, add some sesame seeds, sauf, jeera, ajwain, salt turmeric powder, half tbsp sugar and red chilli powder and grated Lauki
  5. Heat a Kadhai with half cup or 7/8 tbsp oil, add mustard seeds, jeera, hing, sauf, curry leaves. Pour the mixture to this and cover it. Cook for 20 minutes, check with a knife if cooked flip it around and cook from the other side for next 15 minutes to make it crispy.
